Glimmer

Listen: “So Numb” / “Homesick” / “Buried

Formed in the spring of 2023, New York-based grungy shoegazers Glimmer have had a busy first year: after releasing a series of heavy-hitting singles (to praise from the likes of NPR, Stereogum, and BrooklynVegan) and playing countess shows in the NYC area, they’re gearing up for more east coast dates and setting their sights on early 2025 for the release of a debut LP. Made up of Jeff Moore (vocals / guitar), Jaye Moore (drums), Johnny Nicholls (guitar), and Kevin Dobbins (bass), Glimmer’s sound mixes elements of grunge, shoegaze, and ‘90s college rock, pairing layers of fuzzed-out guitars and dreamy reverb with melodic vocals and big, anthemic choruses. Early comparisons have ranged from Hum and Failure to Narrow Head and Superheaven.
